Landscaping in the Mull of Galloway
That was the plan anyway. To grab some time for the Landscape work that I haven’t had much time for lately
So where is the Mull of Galloway? Rough directions are as follows. From the North East, head west. Cross the border with Scotland, go past Gretna, past Dumfries and just before Stranraer, turn left and head south until you cant go any further. It’s a lovely quiet area, perfect for chilling out and grabbing some shots of the glorious coastline. Plans are great things when you are in control of everything but unfortunately the wonderful sunrises I’d visualised just didnt happen when we were there. No problem though. The time wasn’t wasted as Sheila had albums to design which she did whilst seeking creative inspiration from her view of New England Bay - a great change from an office wall! The Mull is special in that in some places it is only about a mile from the east to the west coast so you can easily get around on foot, which meant that I could walk Jake from coast to coast without doing any harm to his still growing body. We’d arrange a meeting place and we would set off in search of a few shots to be met later by Sheila who had brought the picnic out in the car. Not a bad little arrangement and you should have seen Jake’s reaction when “Mum” turned up with grub! Here’s a few from the couple of days we had there.

Kenn,
Some great shots of a lovely part of Scotland. Portpatrick is so like Tobermory and I think there is a Loch Kenneth somewhere nearby, good for dingy sailing.
I don’t know how many family trips where I promised myself early rises for sun-up and down, but never mange it. The only way I can be in the zone for Landscapes is on my own schedule, not worrying about anyone else.
Where are the mutt shots ?
~ John
Thanks John. I know just what you mean about getting in your own zone! No new mutt shots at the moment. I couldnt get hm to sit still long enough! Promise some more soon though.
Kenn/Shiela and Jake, I really like the look of this part of Scotland having now seen some photos. You’ve told me about it several times but never managed to get there yet. It will have to be on the 2012 list of places to visit. There looks to be a nice mix of rugged and sandy coastline for a nice stroll. I look forward to next month’s edition.
Cheers
George
Some great images Kenn, will have to go back there again. When are we going to see some photographs of ‘theSwamp’?
That takes me back Joe. We’ll have to take a trip to the Swamp to see if it’s how we remember it when we were kids
